We teach riding lessons to beginners, children, adults, pre-teens, teenagers, seniors and World Champions
Some of our riders participate in horse shows. Many do not. Horse lovers of all ages and with goals of all types are welcome here at Jansal Saddlebreds.
We currently offer lessons to the public. Lessons are $35 for 30 minutes of riding time for individual lessons, and $35 for group lessons that are 45 minutes of riding time. We also offer driving lessons for those who may not be able to ride, or just don’t wish to get on one!
We also offer a Monthly package which gives a 30% discount off lesson prices.

Lesson Program Info
Every student begins with private lessons. For a beginner, it will probably take about 10 privates before you are ready for the group. Please keep in mind that every rider progresses at a different rate. Very young riders will need more privates before riding in a group; it is very rare for riders under the age of 6 to be safe in the group, so very young riders should plan to remain in private lessons.
If you have ridden quite a bit before, we still like to start with one private lesson so we can place you in an appropriate group for your level of expertise.
When are Lessons Available?
We give lessons on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, but can be available on other days by request. We give lessons after school and into the early evenings. Please arrive ten minutes prior to your scheduled lesson to insure you are ready to ride. Riders are welcome and encouraged to arrive early and or stay late after their lesson if they would like to learn to tack/un-tack and care for the horse.
We now use a scheduling system that allows you to pick when you’d like a lesson during our normal lesson operating hours. Once you’ve completed your registration, you will receive a rider log in and password to alow you access to the new system.
What Should I Wear?
You must wear long pants and closed shoes to your lesson. Shorts, skirts, and capri pants are not acceptable. Sandals or open-toed (or open-heeled) shoes are not safe. Once you decide to continue riding for awhile, you will need riding pants (Kentucky jodhpurs) and a hard-soled ankle-high boot with a half-inch heel. You may be able to find an appropriate ankle-high boot at WalMart, Target or K Mart; it needs to be smooth-soled with a half-inch heel (no Vibram soles or hiking boots). We now offer a new rider package in our Tack Store which includes – Child’s riding helmet, Child’s riding pants, and Child’s boots. The cost is $150. Adult packages available also.
Our facilities include both a lighted and climate controlled indoor arena as well as an outside arena, so you can ride day or night, rain or shine, inside or out.
